Daiwa Seagate 20H is a great conventional reel that isn’t crazy expensive. Pair it up with a Dark Matter Psychedelic X and you’ve got a really@nice party boat set up for bass, blues and blackfish. ...

If I had naturally held a lure rod/spinning reel combination the way an angler like Matt does then I would never have even noticed that crappy bit of plastic, because my whole hand would have been in front of the reel stem and therefore gripping onto a nice bit of duplon that doesn’t then become really annoying when it’s peeing with rain or you have wet hands from releasing fish etc

I've really appreciated how it casts in the wind, with most days fishing the big waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan windy, and many times more than I'd like
