The hat is made of black velvet with concentric rows of gunmetal within clear bugle beads. The hat has a beautiful full veil that is affixed to the interior top of the hat and covers the full face as well as a bit of the head at the back and sides. The opening measures 17" around, but this hat is designed to sit on the top of the head, so it should fit a range of small to medium
