This awkward effort is tough to read though I am concerned about the balance over the longer-term

juicy style

Excellent quality here in a package that should age well over the next 6 to 8 years

There is superb complexity and fantastic length and this mineral-driven effort should be capable of drinking well after only 12 years or so of bottle age but require a solid 20 before it’s completely mature

This too could use better depth but Virondot seemingly always ages extremely well

Philippe Pacalet, Pommard other_regions_australia This awkward effort is tough(from Les Trois Follots, Les Vaumuriens, Rugiens Hauts villages and La Vache). Ripe and very fresh aromas blend notes of red and dark pinot fruit with those of violet and cool earth. There is outstanding intensity to the rather refined medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the youthfully austere finish that also could use a bit more depth to achieve the upper end of my projected range.
