11796 Gothic Signed by Brian SouthamRecamier lived from 1777 to 1849. This book was translated from the French by Alys Hallard. A two volume biography with 15 portraits. Foxing, some small tears. Tissue protectors intact on the portraits. Her Paris salon drew patrons from the brightest of the political, literary, and creative societies of her time. This intriguing biography in two volumes (326 and 447 pgs) includes much original material, letters, annotations. Some yellowing with age.
